Tab Lifeboat

Save your tabs, windows and tab groups, and get them back after a crash or a closed window. Everything stays on your computer.

Tab Lifeboat saves your open tabs as named sessions, with pinned tabs and tab groups, and restores them in one click. It also takes automatic snapshots every few minutes, when you close a window and when the browser starts, so a crash or a mistaken click doesn't cost you your research. There's no account and no server, and you can export everything to a file at any time.

How it protects your tabs

An empty snapshot is never stored, and an empty browser (for example while it starts or shuts down) never replaces the last known state of your windows.
If the number of open tabs suddenly drops by more than half, the snapshot from before the drop is kept aside instead of being rotated out.
Each session is stored separately and checked when it's read. A damaged index is rebuilt from the sessions.
Import never deletes or overwrites anything.

Browsers delete an extension's data when you uninstall it. Use "Export all", or the Pro scheduled backup, to keep a copy outside the browser.

Privacy

No tracking, no analytics, no account. Tab Lifeboat reads only the addresses and titles of your tabs, to save them on your device. It doesn't read page content, has no host permissions and makes no network requests. Full privacy policy.
